JESUS BARRANCO MORA ARTIST´S STATEMENT
Every artist must have his position about the world and life. Without it, his work should be a mere expression without meaning. When I finished my degree in the faculty of fine arts, I did a long and deep reflection to decide what I wanted to paint, my deep love for tradition and human nature played an important role in my decision.
I decided to apply my training in abstract expression, to convey new and contemporary vision of the aesthetic legacy of urban landscapes, often surrounded by history and legends . . . without a doubt one of the great legacies of our ancestors.
Why not convey to the public the infinite value of beauty, fields, forests, deserts and oceans through art? . . . Thus promoting the love and the conservation of the world, that witness our birth and that we are only tenants of it.
My work is the result of this philosophy... Small towns, that once painted on canvas, harmonize vestiges of the modern age and blending it with its origins. Perhaps lost in times, perhaps hiding secrets that nobody shall never discover. Also, suggestions originating from the infinite of the horizon, that will open the door to our imagination, making us hear voices and echoes of seas and oceans, or perceiving the scent of the wind that crossed through distant forests…forgotten
The eternal dance of colors and hues that we have the privilege to contemplate in any shore, river or sea, making us doubt sometimes, where the sky ends, where the sea begins ... And, all for what? Perhaps only to remind us that on this Earth ... we are only... that, tenants.
Todo artista debe tener un posicionamiento ante el mundo y ante la vida, sin el cuál, su obra quedaría como una mera expresión plástica casi sin sentido.
Cuando terminé mi grado en la facultad de BBAA, estuve un tiempo haciendo una larga y pausada reflexión, para determinar qué quería pintar.
Mi profundo amor a la tradición humana y a la naturaleza se encargó de hacer el resto.
Decidí aplicar el resultado de mi formación de la que la expresión abstracta es un componente importante e insustituible, para hacer una revisión actual y contemporánea, de la estética heredada de paisajes urbanos, muchas veces arropada por la historia y las leyendas... sin duda uno de los grandes legados de nuestros antepasados.
Y cómo no, transmitir al público el infinito valor estético y vital de campos y bosques, de desiertos y océanos... contribuyendo así, a fomentar el amor y la conservación de la Tierra, que nos vio nacer y de la cuál sólo somos arrendatarios.
Mi trabajo es el fruto de ésta reflexión.
Pequeños pueblos que una vez descritos en el lienzo, armonizan vestigios de la edad moderna, fundiéndose con sus orígenes, tal vez perdidos en la noche de los tiempos, quizá guardando secretos que nadie desvelará jamás.
O las sugerencias que emanan de la infinitud del horizonte, que abrirán la puerta a nuestra imaginación, haciéndonos vislumbrar voces y ecos de mares y océanos, o percibir el aroma del viento que cruzó a través de bosques lejanos, olvidados...
La eterna danza sin fin de colores y matices, que tenemos el privilegio de contemplar, en cualquier orilla, de un río o del mar, haciéndonos a veces dudar, dónde termina el cielo, dónde empieza el mar...
Y todo para qué? quizá sólo para recordarnos que de ésta Tierra... sólo somos eso...arrendatarios.
